seems to me there has been a lot of "flame fest" of late resulting in a good number of inocent threads from being locked down before their time...darn. any who, i propose that we handle our disagreements here, in this thread, in a battle of words to in all battle of words (until the mods shamlesly shut us down, of course). kind of like thunderdome except no mel gibson, no tina turner, and a much smaller budget. a lot of people enter, a lot of people leave, everybody gets hurt. hey buddy put down that chainsaw. ok, no weapons either. just words and wit.



i guess there should be some way of rewarding the perticipants for their entertianment value. perhaps a mod system much like that on slashdot?

    To give you a worthwhile answer, adding a rating system as such would add another layer of complexity to these boards, and just like slashdot, can be abused by karma whores.



    Additionally, that is not a standard feature in UBB, and would require somebody modifying the perl source, then testing it, then implementing it, then fixing all the bugs that users are going to report. Personally, I think the karma system is a great one for a "comments" section, but that it is less necessary for a bulletin board.
