Can we get one? Not that I don;t like the blue globe, but it would be nice to have our own!

    Other much more pressing issues are being addressed currently; such as the fact that the forums don't work.

    I actually like the blue globe, it's pretty cool looking. Well compared to the IE logo it is.

    I'm digging around trying to find out how to make those little thumbnail do-hickeys so I can provide one from my own site. If anybody has a link to a tutorial it would be greatly appreciated!

    I'll keep looking though...

    Check out the Web Developer area in the MacNN forum. Search for favicon. The first time I saw a favicon (when they started showing up in Chimera), I knew I had to have one. It's very easy.

    I couldn't find the thread I referred to above, so here's my explanation.

    1. Make a 16x16 or 32x32 graphic of your liking and save it as a .ico file (I think this is a Windows icon). I used GraphicConverter.

    2. Name the graphic favicon.ico.

    3. Upload to the root directory of your HTML web server.

    4. Add the following code to your html documents, between the header tags:

    [code]

    &lt;LINK REL="shortcut icon" HREF="favicon.ico" TYPE="image/x-icon"&gt;

    </pre><hr></blockquote>

    5. You might have to quit your browser and log out and back in for your browser to recognize the favicon.

    Hope this helps/works!

    PS: Too bad you can't have animated favicons (yet), drewpops. I bet that ray gun with static (that was your sig image for a while, right?) would look great as an animated favicon.
