How 'bout a "Future Softrware" section?

We all like the "Future Hardware" section for talking about when the Ultramac 970 will be released, but there is no comfortable place for us gossip about when in hell the guys at Quark will get their rears into gear and release an OS X version of xpress <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> . If we put our Final Cut Pro 4 pipe dreams in the Software section of Appleinsider, that is OK, but it ends up getting a bit too much of a tight squeeze with both current and speculative threads dwelling in the same place. I don't want to criticize the layout of Appleinsider. I am just asking for feedback on my marvelous brainchild.

This has indeed been discussed before here, and the answer is that the Software forum is the place to discuss software, past, present and future. I'm not sure what "comfortable" means, or what we can do about it, but there's already an appropriate place.

Once again: We create new forums when a topic threatens to overwhelm the other topics in a forum; we collapse forums when there isn't enough traffic to sustain them. We do not create forums speculatively, nor do we feel any need to create a forum for every possible subtopic - that just fragments the user base and the discussions, and kills the board.
