Now we have the guy who ignited the personal computer revolution and the guy who invented the internet. If we get a lockbox to protect our technology it will be great! 8)
Oh God, if George W. Bush became a board member of Apple we would really see a war started with Microsoft. Bush would persuade Jobs to declare war on Microsoft the day he would become and board member and the floppies would begin to fly. Oh yeah, only Microsoft will be using that outdated technology. I guess Apple will have to be retaliating with DVD discs or 1.42 Ghz G4's.
When I first saw this, I thought it was an Onion headline.

The actual quote was "I pioneered the internet". I actually saw it. I'm sure he didn't mean it, but then again, we never really know what he means...do we?
My family is going to give me hell on this one. Seriously, he is a smart guy...I'm sure he'll do fine.
That kind of gives another clue as to the political spectrum Apple's bigshot adhere to. I guess this could give those discussions in AppleOutsider a new-ish spin. Is the lesson we should learn today: a Republican user of the Macintosh platform is an oxy-moron ? I leave it up to YOU to decide.

Silicon Graphics founder Jim Clark collaborated with Marc Andreessen to found Mosaic Communications (later renamed to Netscape Communications). They are the real pioneers of the internet as we know it today.
Netscape brought us the commercialization of the net.
Nothing will change. Apple sells us a poor product (under-powered, and generation of technology behind) at extreamly high prices. Just like our government when it is under the control of liberal leadership. Tax & Spend, baby!
But, I'm sure Mr. Gore is an smart guy. Opinions of different people are... different. Because his political opinions are differnet than mine doesn't make me believe he's a poor business man. I don't want the guy to be the President, but I'm sure he will do a fine job on the BOD.
I should be his running mate. I can't talk out of both sides of my mouth and still believe what I'm saying.

haha i'm pretty sure Bush isn't more persuasive then Jobs...jobs would freak out on him for being too slow

No Vint Cerf no internet. No TB Lee no Mosaic. Anyways Andreesen was only one member of the Mosaic team.

One's political/economical stance doesn't have anything to do with the computer environment they use really. If I want more government intervention, will I automatically use a Mac? Don't think so --- an OS isn't a political reflection in my book. Take my family, we live in southern Texas and are (naturally) Republican -- and we've used nothing but Macs in our house since it came about (1984--the 128k Mac was our first computer in the house altogether!).
I think the public in general has a distorted image of the political parties as they stand today. Associating onesself with a party is not reflecting hardly anything socially -- both parties have delgates that stand for issues which are typified with the opposite party. In other words, for the most part, political parties are fundraising machines. Let's leave at that and not offend anyone who chooses to use a Mac.

Of course Al did propose the
E-Rate tax to have us all pay for the internet.

I'm glad that he's on the board. That's actually pretty cool.
I mean it's not like he's a bad guy or anything, and we know it's better work that Clinton and Dole are finding. 8)
isn't GW a Mac user too? funny how that works.

49 minutes later:
"...in a processssss we call 'pre-binding'. Now, what that meeaannnns is...".
Online viewership for the keynote has dropped down to 28 people...20 of them in Nashville and classmates of his son.
Wonder if he'll initiate a program to keep all the secret plans/specs for new, upcoming Macs in a "lock box"?

Ask Rush Limbaugh.
Keychain>Lock Box = funny.
Vint Cerf, and don't forget our fellow NeXT user, Tim Berners-Lee (OK, www. Close enough).
