Last time I did it, I just went to Connect To Server, waited a second, the account on the Windows machine (XP) just showed up in the list. Connected, put in the name and password, bam.

Provided you've got a shared drive on the Windows machine and the IP address is of the same class (easiest way: make the first three quads match those of your Mac), Connect to Server should find it anyway.

You did the correct thing in your first post.

The Network name is the domain or workgroup of the Windows ME machine (not the hostname). The usename and password should be that of your Me machine.

You cannot share a device/directory under Windows without having a workgroup or domain defined. As for the username check under the user accounts control panel option for a list of created users. You might need to create one.

By default, your workgroup name will probably be WORKGROUP.
