The new initiative will focus on low-code software development, business training, mentorship, and networking with the end goal of expanding diversity in technology and business ownership, Claris announced Thursday.

"The need to invest and increase diversity in tech broadly, and in Black entrepreneurs specifically, has never been greater," Claris said. "At the same time, the massive growth and tremendous power of low-code technologies represent some of the most significant opportunities to close this gap that we've seen in generations."

According to Claris and EonXI, the program will provide graduates with the experience and mentorship needed to build and scale a business, as well as technical training on Claris low-code development platforms.

Technical and business mentorship will be provided by a variety of partners, including Claris developer and iSolutions President Cris Ippolite and Cathy House, an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Howard University.

Claris is a software development company owned by Apple. EonXI is a venture capital fund and startup incubator focused on disruptive companies.

The program is accepting applications for the first cohort. Those interested should submit an application to Claris any Oct. 15, 2021. More information can be found here.
