I am not a musical movie kind of guy, but Schmigadoon won me over. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it

During one episode of Schmigadoon!, DeBose's character had written on her blackboard the names of all the great musical writers. It was a hidden Easter Egg that I found. Another Easter Egg that I uncovered is that the exclamation mark in the title refers to the exclamation marks in many great musicals! I guess musicals must have exclamation marks! I like that!

    Oklahoma!
    Oliver!
    Hello Dolly!
    Mamma Mia!
    Moulin Rouge!
    Help!

I enjoyed it too -- but then I enjoyed the great musicals.

Some criticized it for not updating the music.  But they missed the point:   that couple had been transported back into a bygone era and the music represented both the best and worst of that era:  it was used to celebrate their hope and confidence as well as cover over their deficiencies.

Argyle seems to have a very impressive cast. DeBose was very good in Schmigadoon! and I'm looking forward to seeing her in more projects.
