Finders toolbar is it scriptiable

Hi I have had an idea for the toolbar to use it like tabs in a browser. But I need to know if it is even scriptiable. As somebody else told me it is not but he is not compleatly sure.

Well here is the idea. OSX of cource.

I was thinking of a way to use it like tabs in a browser.

Or a way to put items in the toolbar with a simple command click. Or control menu item. That way there is no need for dragging it up to the tool bar, since it is so slow to respond to drag and drop.

And then a simple button that removes the right most toolbar item. So to get rid of them easy style.

Note this is not a windows idea like others have told me and gave me hell about. I just thought that maybe the top bar could be a little more powerful.

I in no way am asking any body here to make this for me. I just

needed to know if the toolbar is scriptable. I am still seeking tutorials on

the web but google is of little help. It just keeps pointing me to pages

from 2001 and lower.

Thankyou for your time.

Open your applescript app and go to the file menu

select open dictionaries and look for the finder

look for a toolbar entry... if it isnt there it probably isnt scripable...

    I'd wait for 10.3 anyway

Sounds more like modifying Finder than using scripts... but either way, I'm hoping that Finder is dramastically* improved (i.e. rewritten) in 10.3. Hopefully your needs will be met then.

    * Dramastic is my new word, we already use dramatic and drastic, sometimes you need both. Watch for it, it will be everywhere.
