12" Powerbook vs. iBook and Widescreen

As a home user, and looking a bit ahead, if and when I upgrade my iBook should I be looking at the 12" Powerbook or another iBook? I realise things may have chnaged a bit then, but i'd expect the current Powerbook line-up to be around for a while. Also, any idea as to whether the iBook line might go widescreen soon? After all, its the only product in Apple's product matrix that doesn't have a widescreen option.
