iPad and sharing encrypted DMG files
Running iPadIOS 14.8.1, iPad Pro 12.9 3rd generation:
I create a folder on my desktop on my Mac (latest Catalina) and password encrypt it to a DMG folder. Then I set up file sharing to the Desktop.
On my iPad, I can access normal files/folders on the Mac desktop using the iPad files app and 'connect to server'.
However, while the DMG folder appears on my iPad, I cannot access it; it never asks for the password. Also synching the folder via the Finder interface gives the same result.
I understand that a DMG encrypted flash drive is supposed to work when plugged into the iPad (i have not tested it), so I thought it should be able to decrypt and use files shared any other way as well.
The question is: Is there a way to enable this, or is the functionality absent?
