I'm not much of a DTP guy (to understate), so there's not much I can offer in the way of commentary, but I figured this would be of interest to some of the people here.

WOW! These groundbreaking features are gonna make Xpress 6 ROCK!.....yeah....whatever
anyway.....they should have PDF output in version 5!
1. Integrated PDF creation is long overdue.
2. There's no mention of the option to place PDFs or PSD files into layouts. If there isn't, InDesign still has the upper hand. More than 40% of the ads in our publication now come in as PDF.
3. As an aside, does anybody know if QXP6 uses Quartz Extreme? I believe Adobe uses their own imaging model to maintain a single codebase with the Mac and Windows. If Quark uses Quartz Extreme, it could be a major selling point.
Adobe's been pretty quiet about ID3. Wonder if they're planning a sneak attack at WWDC or if the team's slowed down since ID2. The last report on Think Secret didn't mention any whiz bang features that would get me to upgrade.

I'm betting on QuickDraw.

Given that they're going OS X only, that would be profoundly silly.
Which is not to say that it's out of the question, but they'd have to jump through some real hoops to do it.
i hope the InDesign is prepping an ass kicking release of ID3 to either coincide with or beat Quarks release.
another aggressive "switch" campaign with huge cross-grade rebates would be great too.

I know, I'm just figuring if anyone goes out of their way to do something like this, it would be Quark.
Oh wait, it is. (or might as well be)
What are we going to bitch about if Quark ever gets its act together?

Is that a rhetorical question?
