copy control CDs

I saw a CD that I might like to buy at Amazon but see that it's listed as a "copy control CD" (a Japanese import). Has anyone here used these things and do you have any comments on how well they've worked (or not worked) for you?

My Sony stereo system is 11 years old (wow!) and I have a Sony minidisc deck hooked up to port my music over so I can use them in my car. One day I'm going to go iPod though, so I don't know what good it would be to buy a copy control CD if I couldn't move them into my iTunes library.

I have yet to find a way to deal with these CDs on the Mac. I currently use a PC with a copy of "Exact Audio Copy" which is an excellent program that can make perfect copies (minus protection) of these copy protected CDs. I'll add that EAC is a free program (the author calls it "postcardware". If you like it then send him a postcard). Then I burn a non-copy protected copy and load them into iTunes/iPod.

BTW, I do this for my personal use only so I consider what I'm doing fair use. If I lay out the money for a CD I'm gonna make sure I can listen to it the way I want.
