How do I check which version of java I am running on my machine?

i'm in 10.2.4 and i rean the 1.4.1 update, but i dont think it is working...

    Patse this in Terminal, it will show which version is running;



    ls -l /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK

    Even if you've updated you'll still have both versions on your machine. Some things will automatically take advantage of whatever the latest version is but Apple took the decision to allow other programs to still use 1.3 till they are specifically updated by their authors.



    So just because java -version returns 1.4 doesn't mean every Java app is running 1.4.



    Thought that might be helpful if you were asking out of anything other than idle curiosity.
