Rescuing POP configured Sent emails

Helping someone who years ago, was setup on her iPhone with her main email account as a POP configuration. She now has a need to access that email on another device which means (of course) that we need to reconfigure as IMAP. I'm pretty sure this means zapping the existing POP account. With POP, of course, the emails are stored locally -- specifically the thousands and thousands of Sent emails. Is there some can to copy/extract those emails from an iPhone? Third party tool such as iMazing?

You could make a new mail account, set it up on iPhone and possibly on desktop too and move the emails from the iPhone POP account to that account (edit > select email > move > choose other account). They will then appear in the other account and can be backed up and restored into a new IMAP account. Do it on a test email first and then you can do "select all" for the whole mail box.
