Apple seeds macOS Ventura Release Candidate beta
As Apple gets closer to a public release, it has handed over a twelth beta and Release Candidate build of macOS Ventura to developers.
macOS Ventura developer beta 10 now available
The newest builds can be acquired from the Apple Developer Center by developers enrolled in the test program, and as an over-the-air update for hardware already running beta software. Public betas usually arrive a short time after the developer versions, and are downloaded through the Apple Beta Software Program website.
Beta twelve of macOS Ventura takes over from the eleventh, which landed on October 11. The tenth was issued on October 4, while the ninth was on September 27.
The twelfth beta build is number 22A379, replacing 22A5373b.
Apple also released Release Candidates for older versions of macOS including macOS 11.7.1 and macOS 12.6.1. These updates will likely release alongside the mainline version with similar bug fixes and security patches for products that cannot update to macOS Ventura.
Final public releases of macOS Ventura will arrive on October 24.
Inbound features in macOS Ventura include Stage Manager app management and multitasking, Live Captions for video, changes to Finder and System Settings, tweaks to Spotlight, Continuity Camera that turns an iPhone into a webcam, Passkeys, and upgrades to Messages, and Safari.
AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly advise users avoid installing betas on to "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the small chance of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to make sure there are sufficient backups of important data before updating.
