How to connect two ipad pros, don't share same network

How can I connect my ipad pro 12.9 1st Gen to my 84 yr old mother's ipad pro 12.9 5th gen? 10 hr drive separates us, during this wicked prairie winter. She had to replace her old 2015, she loves the screen size, but not the learning curve. 7 years ago she was able to grasp learning more quickly, but today is 4th day and she is at wits end. She lives in a small rural community, and no one there knows how to use an ipad.
Please is there any way I can assist her remotely? I have an ipad, and a windows 10 laptop.
