External HD not found

have and Western Digital 2tb My Passport, have erased, formatted and backed up my HDD to it with Carbon copy. Have used the Option command to access the drive. It only shows the  HDD in the iMac, not the external western digital. Help what am I doing wrong, Thank you.

    If Carbon Copy Cloner made a bootable backup, check the drive was formatted with a GUID partition map:

    On systems after Big Sur, Carbon Copy Cloner doesn't clone the system by default, you have to make a bootable system manually and they recommend dedicating a separate drive for a boot drive:

    That's a good setup because usually you don't need to clone the system for each backup and it slows down the backup process scanning the system for changes.
