Is there a way to display the DATE next to the time on OSX?

I'd like to know if there's a way to make the date show up on MacOS X's top bar, next to the time. I already installed a program to show the temperature, so the only thing left is date.

well you could install a third-party time menubar application (try fuzzy clock) and use OSX's built in time menubar application and by using system preferences make it display the date instead of the time. you should then have the date and time (displayed in english, on in your choice of many other languages ) in your menubar.
