what do you think about the "piles" concept in 10.3?
reading on some other boards, that MacOsX 10.3. will have integrated the 10 year old concept of piles, which is not only some folders on your desktop, but - well piles of files; when you move your mouse over it, a realtime preview of the file is shown.
sounds easy, and reminds me of a very old article in Wired, where some guy thought about the negs of the desktop-paradigme. this man (???) said, we all spend more time in filing than in using our datas!! so, he preferred the "mountain phrase: in front of you is a - hey, here comes the word again - pile of files, what's on top is latest, what's below is unimportant. this guy also had the idea to use a time-metaphore, your data is filed by time/date etc. ("? i wrote this memo, when we had this party in the office cause our boss had ... was it his birthday?")
give me your pennies 'bout piling data!
