Quick DVD burning question.

New to Mac. When I burn a nearly one-hour DVD with my new iMac, it takes a couple of hours to encode assets, etc. But then the actual burning only takes about 15 minutes or so. Sometimes, a couple of days later, I realize I would like another copy of the DVD. Do I have to go through all those "gyrations" of encoding, etc. again. Or is there, stored somewhere on my hard drive, the actual "encoded and ready to be burned" copy of my movie? And if so, how do I go about burning that to DVD?

Thanks in advance for all of your assistance!!

No, all you should have to do is use diskcopy and create a disk image copy of the finished dvd, after that, just make copies using that diskimage.

General: Thanks! Two quick follow-ups for you....When one uses the diskcopy function, do you have the finished DVD in the Superdrive and the system creates an image of that or does the system just make an image of the DVD using the Quicktime movie or some other file already in the hard drive?

Also, not a big issue either, but this would take up a couple of extra GB on my hard drive, right? Guess that's the cost for having an image of the DVD ready to burn. Not critical questions, but they will help me be in the right mindset as I proceed.

Thanks, and have a great Tuesday!

I use DVD Backup 1.3 to copy my iDVD created DVDs. Works like charm.
