jw for the chemists out there, what would i add to my smoke bomb to get different colored smoke

i use

4-parts sugar

6-parts Salt Petre (potassium nitrate)

i thought of adding metals since they produce color when burned but i think that would just change the color of the flame and not the smoke...any ideas?

I think powder coat paint (uses ionization to make a paint powder stick to metal which then forms an even coat of paint, almost like a lazer printer and toner) might work, but I cant get any since i am not a large company.

yeah i am a chemist... huh... colored smoke... didnt you mother tell you not to play with fire... if she didnt well, she was supposed to tell you that you might get burned.... they dont teach chemist anything about coloring smoke, sure we do atomic emission spectroscopy but as you indicated that only makes the fire colored... isnt that enough?

if the fire is really huge, wouldnt throwing in some metals do the trick, i mean.... what better than a blue flame?

    sigh
