It's not checked off under my View menu but everytime I type in a URL, it gives me a popup match of similar addresses.

Can't this thing be turned off?

View menu is just to make the AutoFill button appear in the Address Bar.

You can customize AutoFill, or turn it off, in Preferences.

It's just nicer to not seeing every site someone has been on.

Fortunately I no longer live with my mom.

If she did, she'd appreciate not having to search for the porn

How do you turn it off in Preferences. I have nothing checked but the URL box still appears when I type in something that begins with the same letter.

That's a history feature, not a feature of AutoFill.. AFAIK there is no way to turn it off ATM.

    Oh, the URL box.

Yeah, it's a little confusing. The URL field automatically autofills from the browser history. So if you delete the site from History, it won't try to automatically complete it afterward in the URL field.

If you clear your whole history periodically, URL Autofill will quietly go away.

Also, fortunately, it's really easy to navigate history in the Bookmarks view -- and you can search within History as well.
