Ok, I am pretty sure about this, but just want to double check it here.

I am anticipating getting DSL this summer. I have an Airport equipped TiBook, a basestation (White), an ethernet hub, an iMac DV, an iMac G4, and an XP laptop. With what I have, will I be able to allow all of the computers to use the DSL line at the same time? If not, what else do I need?

You are right, you have all you need. You can download a manual from apple's homepage from kbase 120146. The manual will tell you how to setup the network so all machines will be able to connect via DSL.

You're good to go. I have an iMac and three PCs sharing DSL and it works great. Good luck.

I have a somewhat related question:

I have a 12" AlBook and an XP Toshiba laptop. I want to exchange files between the two directly without connecting to a LAN (I have done this before using SMB on a LAN and had the PC users in the lab in awe). Anyone know how to set things up (i.e. network settings, particularly in XP) so that I can just connect the two with an ethernet cable? Is it as simple as turning on SMB on the AlBook and making sure that both computers are in the same Workgroup?

Also, has anyone tried starting up a Mac in Target Disk mode while connected to a PC via firewire to trade files?

Chuckster, you're more or less there: just make sure the two machines have similar (not identical) IP addresses and that at least one drive on the XP machine is shared, and you'll soon be flying.

Last week (just for fun) I plugged my 12" PB into a big NT 4.0 network and everything was talking away quite happily with minimal setup on my side.

Here are two web pages that describe in detail how to share files in each direction.
