Since 2020, I've been using a Macbook Air Intel 13 with 8GB RAM and 256GB hard disk, and it was starting to make noise
(like a fan turning on - even though it doesn't have one) and I'm a teacher, carrying the PC every day and giving it
a lot of use. at the same.

Meanwhile, I was keeping an eye on the new Mcbooks, seeing reviews of them, and in all the reviews, they recommend
16 Gb of RAM these days, but the prices of any models with 16 Gb Ram and 512 Gb disk, were always over €2000.

I always favor an enlarged screen and the ideal was a 15'', however, last weekend, I went to a Store, in Spain (I'm from Portugal)
and very close to the border, where I hoped to find good deals and so it was.

There were two models, with damaged boxes, with a 3-year warranty:

Macbook Pro M2 13'' 8 Gb Ram and 256 Gb disk for €839
Macbook Pro M1 Pro - 14'' M1Pro - 16Gb Ram and 512 Gb for €1299

This latest new MBP M1 is no longer easily available for sale and I have to adapt to the Spanish keyboard.
But for those who don't know, you can put all the seats we use while keeping the Spanish keyboard active.

Do you think it’s a good deal in 2024? I hope this computer lasts a good 6/7 years.

16GB is better to have for the long-term as well as 512GB SSD, storage fills up quickly with modern apps and media. The M1 Pro at €1299 looks good, that one has a nicer display.

Apple has a refurb store but they are a bit more expensive than those options:

Going back to the 2004 G4 iBook I have never owned a portable Mac with anything close to "excessive" key travel. . .  The thinner models didn't have enough room for it to occur.  The better MacBook Pro models had a really nice keyboard action.  Plus the keycaps had a mild depression vs. flat.
