Hack le Sack
So, who here is interested in hackysack? Anyone? The small rounded threaded, beaded, ball, bouncy when new... it is a skill easy to novice at and difficult to master.... anyone?
I mention this only because my friends and I have started to play around the tenlytown metro stop (in DC) after school, around 4... if anyone from DC wants to hack it up, you are free to come join... (we play with this socialist dude who is at that same spot all day long)

Great for your reflexes, foot coordination, timing, accuracy, etc.
I started out much this way myself with several college friends, in late Freshman year, and we became quite the proficient hackers. We came to prefer the croched type to the regulation leather HackeySack, way softer and it bounces less. We always stomped on new HackeySacks, even ran over them with a pickup truck several times to "soften" them up 8)
When you are just getting started, you can fly up the learning curve by "hacking off" by yourself. Stand in a corner indoors with a fairly high ceiling and the wall rebounds will give you plenty of practice opportunity.
This was 20 years ago, and I stopped playing regularly over 10 years ago, but it's a bit like riding a bike - I can still hack in to a circle of college kids when I run into one at a Show, and give it a pretty good go.
When I was a kid, back in the 70's we used to kick small three inch "Bean bags" around in much the same manner. had much the sames rules too, except in our games we'd try to "catch it " by getting it to land on our heads..Great fun..
& I still love it even if my knees don't !
