mail merge with photos, using Pages and Numbers

Trying to make a photo portfolio with project data like client name and project location. One picture per page, six other text data points per page.
Spreadsheet feeds data into the Pages document just fine, but I can't make it do the same for photos.
Will Numbers hold photos? How? 
Or is there another way to to feed the photos into the Pages document?
