What are my options? It seems to want to almost come out, but it can't quite get there. It says there the disk could not be put away because there is a disk error.

Any ideas would be enormously appreciated.

You can try using a paper clip to force an eject on the far right side of the CD slot. (there is a button there) But, I assume you mean that it is physically stuck. So, in that case, maybe try moving the paper clip over to sort of shake the CD around. I'm not really sure. Maybe someone else has some ideas...

    Hi,

    1. have you tried to restart the machine and holding down the eject key on the keyboard?

    2. hold down the mouse key on startup

    3. start with Option key and when you see the startup manager press the period and the Command key.

    4. boot into open firmware with Option, Command, o and f. When in firmware you type "eject cd" and to restart the machine from here you type "mac-boot".

    5. try this last as you might damage the cd when doing this one. Use the paper clip again and "unfold it" a bit. Put it in the slot about 2.5 centimeters from the left edge of the slot, then drag the cd to the bin on the desktop and when you can hear that the drive is trying to eject the cd you move the paper clip to the left and then remove it. You might need to try this a couple of times to get it right.

    6. repair
