black and white screen

I started up my Mac and the screen was in black and white. I went into the preferences and found the settings in my display were wierd. When I set them to Millions of colors, the color came back, but they are all wierd. things aren't the right color at all. Any suggestions?

    I am guessing your display somehow got set to "White On Black" meaning that it's inverted and set to grayscale. If you set it to millions of colors, you get color back, but everything is inverted. Go into your Universal Access preferences and click the big "Switch to Black On White" button, and it will go back to grayscale. Then click the same button again, which will now say "Switch to White On Black" and it'll get back to normal.
