Win XP "My Computer" in the trash!

My pal's son trashed the "My Computer" icon on his XP PC's desktop. He can't figure out how to get it back or make a new one.
What can he do?

Right click on desktop --> Properties
This will show the display properties.
click on the "Desktop" Tab, then the "Customize Desktop" Button below the list of backgrounds, and click the checkbox by "My Computer" on the Desktop Icons choices. Click ok a couple times to confirm changes, and it will appear on the desktop again.
