So how about that new Zire?

Palm just announced "Zire 71." What is AI's take on this PDA before I plunk down the hard cash? Worth it? Or price inflation of Sony-like proportions?

    I'm considering buying it as well, but since I'm a PDA novice, any feedback and comments would be welcome.

    Watch of for that cnet review, it's got some misleading information in it. Specifically the part about being able to use a bluetooth card in it. There are no drivers that work with os 5.2 (which is what the z71 has). Another thing is that it doesn't have graffiti anymore. It's got graffiti 2 which is like the 'block recognizer' on a pocket pc. In general, it's mostly the same, but there some significant differences.



    Here's a good review of the z71. Much better than the cnet review and error free.

    Graffiti 2 is actually just Jot renamed, which is very old and reliable. I prefer it to the real Graffiti. No more shorthand characters!



    The Zire 71 looks pretty good, IMO.
