Written, starring, and executive produced by Jason Momoa, "Chief of War" is a historical drama based on true events. The first two episodes of the nine-episode series will debut on Friday, August 1, with new episodes every Friday through September 19.
"Chief of War," described as a passion project from creators Jason Momoa and Thomas Pa'a Sibbett, follows the story of Ka'iana, a Native Hawaiian warrior played by Momoa. Set in the late 18th century, the series traces his efforts to unite the Hawaiian islands ahead of Western colonization.
The series stars predominantly Polynesian actors, with Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikaleo, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka, Te Kohe Tuhaka and Benjamin Hoetjes filling out the cast.
Momoa previously starred in the Apple TV+ hit "See." The series wrapped its third and final season in August 2022.

Filming in Hawai'i and New Zealand. Two of the most beautiful places in the world to film outdoors. Sounds like a dream job.

Both he and Pascal strike me as lightweight one-note actors. I've tried watching him in a couple of things and he just doesn't bring anything to the table. I really did like him in The Mandalorian but that was it. In the case of both actors, their ego gets in the way of their limited ability.
