Getting at those hidden folders

I need to put a file into the var folder. It doesn't show up in the GUI. I can see it if I'm browsing from another computer but from another computer it won't allow me to modify it. I presume that there is a way to do this in terminal but terminal is foreign territory to me. Any help?

Try downloading TinkerTool and telling it to show hidden files. This makes it really easy to get to anything you need to, without booting into OS 9 or doing any terminal tricks. Be careful though, you don't want to damage anything.

BTW, TinkerTool is also really useful for getting stuff off a Software Restore CD. So if you want OS 9 back without having to run the full software restore, you can just use TinkerTool to find the stuff you need.
