once you find an employer willing to sponsor you, just wait for paperwork. it takes 6 - 12 months, even longer, depending on the state. how many private companies know they need you in a year or two? for a faster service on dropping the h1bs, drop a couple of grants and they will work months faster. if you can find a company that will do that, and they and you can wait for up to 2 years, do that.
besides, even marrying will make you have to wait for up to 2-3 years for the paper. but at least you can leave the country and come back when you feel like.
can't you just ask some of the mexicans where you live how they do (get) their visas? ... or go to mexico or canada every 89 days ..
A word of advice for marrying a 'merican chick: gotterdammerung the Wagner and pick up some Norah Jones or something more palatable. Good luck.

i was married (for real) a year and a half after this post to a very nice girl. We are still married, bought a house and living happily ever after. side note: i didn't have to pay her, just my charm was enough

1. look at the original post date, gay marriage was not legal then.
2. no one. but trust me, getting legal the legal way is wayyyy harder then doing it the illegal way. i choose to do things the legal way and its taken forever. I am finally legal (took 5 years, and i've been in the country legally since late 80's to the 03 date i originally posted). If i had done things the illegal way, i.e. fake marriage, i would have been legal years before i made this post.
