calling all UK NTL Broadband Users!
Hi all,
I'm about to sign up, and wanted to know your experiences.
Are they Mac friendly?!?! Is it possible to plug a base station directly into the modem and have the Macs (I have an original iMac and a flat panel iMac) elsewhere in the house? I don't want cables running from the outside of the house to where the computers are, you see!
Cheers!
David

I've yet to speak to a person who want to do anything other than murder every NTL employeee they meet. Also they seem to be mac-unfriendly.

I Have used NTL and found it very good and it works with my base station no problems !! - just watch out for the installation costs as I got stung a bit for mine.
Don't have the instal all you need is to connect to the ethernet port with an ethernet cable...the lead shouldn't cost more than a few pounds.
I have asked about connecting a base station and was told that it would connect to my digi box in the same way my G4 does now. (You may know if that's true by looking at the connections on the base station?)
As for not being Mac friendly...what would you want them to do? I'm online, I download, upload...FTP and e-mail work fine. Apart from a single call on connection and another to ask about the airport I haven't needed to contact them in 18 months.
Good Luck!
