Another victory for the open tendering promised to companies interested in rebuilding Iraq for profit. And this one's a classic.



WorldCom, scandal-ridden bankrupts. Appointed by the defence department, no less. There should be a law against it, I tell you. At least they're going to use GSM, which is frankly the biggest surprise of all in the circumstances.

    WorldCom does not exist anymore. They've changed their name back to MCI. By changing their name, they have fixed their problems. Therefore this is a logical and just contract. Although I would have preferred if it had been given to Halliburton.

    I was thinking that instead of using the few companies that are set up to work on that sort of scale---the Brown & Root types---we should get the community to come together and have a bake sale and hire there own experts.
