Is there still a way to shutdown/startup at a specific time in OSX like there was in 9?

You can schedule shutdowns, sleeps, restarts, and log outs with this free little app:

    Kudown

but there's nothing out there that'll schedule startups yet.

I always wanted this opportunity. The opportunity to correct Brad.

(Not meant mean, Brad, you'll understand. )

There is an utility to schedule
    • sleep

    • wake up

    • shutdown

    • restart

    • and startup

It's called iBeeZz and is available here.

If you buy it, make sure you need it right now, because the next version of Panther will have this functionality (again) included.

Good to see you're all alive, guys.

Well I sure hope Panther has this feature because I refuse to pay for iBeezz. It's the sort of app that should either come with OS X or be freeware. Paying money to start and shutdown my computer? Yeah, right...

Don't laugh. My friend Joe pulled his hand out and demonstated for us when we were in World Religions class talking about quagmires posed by Zen Buddhism.
