Converting iPod to Windows

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
My new iPod should arrive this week - hooray. I'm giving my old one to a friend, but he has a PC. What do I need to do to reconfigure it for Windows and what does he need to do besides getting the PC card?

    Last I read, this isn't possible. You can convert the old ones from Windows to Mac, but not Mac to Windows. However, I don't know if this has been changed or not. I also believe this is different for the latest generation.

    I was under the impression that you could just format the iPod to a different file system?
