Where's the puke smilie when you need it. How can you seriously run a XUL app on a Mac when there are so much better browsers. OMNIweb. Safari. Camino, even (oh, well...).

Try reading gelding's post next time. He said Firebird at work, Safari at home.
Obviously, he is talking about replacing IE on a PC, not a Mac.
I use Mozilla, not Firebird. I like that it comes with a mail client and an IRC client, both of which I use. I have Chimera and and Safari on my PB, but I use Safari more (not that it got tabs).
Whenever possible I tell people to switch to Mozilla from IE. Many people are stubborn and are like "it is a browser, what difference does it make." However, for those people that I do switch, almost all like it more than IE.
I've used Mozilla for some time now. How does Firebird compare to it (speed, stability vise) ??
I haven't used Mozilla in quite a while, but I'd guess that Firebird it at least as fast, if not a little faster. It's been pretty stable as well (at least the nightly builds before the 0.6 release) for me, no huge problems to speak of.
my pc died... not seeing my harddrive all of a sudden... so i can' try it... one question isn't it stupid to put a PC related problem in genius bar? or should I even dare?
Thanks for the suggestion. I download Firbird 0.6 for my PC at work and I am loving it. I find it very similar to Camino (which is my main browser at home on my Mac), which is really no surprise since they are both Mozilla projects.
rhoq...you need to download the plugin and place it in the firebird plugin folder...why this isn't there in the first place is beyond me....but i did it and now flash works great...i always test my flash out by viewing a little of mr stabby

and yes, i am telling PC users to drop IE and get firebird...
i expect all mac users to have already trashed IE and have moved on to safari or camino....

The Mac version of Firebird isn't finished yet. I run Camino at home. My browsers of choice for Mac:
1)Camino
2)Safari
3)IE
4)OmniWeb
I'm betting that OmniWeb will be much more usable if/when they integrate the Webcore engine.

Its too bad that XUL only works in Mozilla.

On the Cube, it's all Safari, all the time.
Thank god for my powerbook
