I was hoping everyone would cut and paste their favorite lists out of iTunes.

I'd be interested in other recipies!

i dont really cut playlists for moods or nuthin'. i listen to the library (wow, that sounds sqr), or an album. often just searching for the album name so i dont have to go through all the work of creating the playlist.

My favorite playlist is one I called "Jazz Blues."

It's got After Hours, Bag's Groove, Barbados, Blue Monk, Blues for Alice, C Jam Blues, Night Train, and several others, and with a couple of versions of most of them. And they're fun and easy to play along with if you play an instrument.

    My laptop has a 6GB hard drive and 200MB free. I can't keep a lot of MP3's. (I have 3) However I do have a infinant "playlist":

All are internet streams and most have songs I never heard before. A big plus for me.8)

BTW, live DJ/Techno party at http://www.di.fm/wma/live.asx (Windos media stream) right NOW! for a limited time.

Good Question! I fixed that. My other computer's monitor is set at 1600X1200 and it is a littler hard to find one song in a huge screen like that so I increased it. I just copied the settings that worked for me over when I installed iTunes on my laptop.

This is my favorite (I guess I should be slightly embarrassed, but screw it):

    Cool Country

Eastbound & Down - Jerry Reed

Honky Tonk Crowd - Marty Stuart\t

I Walk The Line Revisited - Rodney Crowell\t

After The Fire Is Gone - Conway Twitty & Loretta Lynn

Eight Feet High - Stacy Dean Campbell

    Hello Stranger - Emmylou Harris

I'll Go To My Grave Loving You - The Statler Brothers

Y'All Come Back Saloon - The Oak Ridge Boys

    Readin', Rightin', Rt. 23 - Dwight Yoakam\t

Workin' Man Blues - Merle Haggard

Columbus Stockade Blues - James Burton & Ralph Mooney

Red, Red Wine And Cheatin' Songs - Marty Stuart

    Teardrops\t- George Ducas

Just Call Me Lonesome - Radney Foster

    I'm A Ramblin' Man - Waylon Jennings

The Conversation - Waylon Jennnings & Hank Williams, Jr.

Walkin, Talkin, Barely Beating Broken Heart - Highway 101

Callin' Baton Rouge - The Oak Ridge Boys

Golden Ring - George Jones & Tammy Wynette

The Distance Between You And Me - Dwight Yoakam

Lots of stuff from my childhood (Statlers, Oak Ridge Boys, George & Tammy, Conway & Loretta, Merle and Emmylou), so it's partly nostalgic and "feel good" for me. Have a burned CD in the car also.

Also, here's another that I made for a friend. She gave me a list and I put it together. But I found myself liking it, so I kept it:

    Vern's Dance Songs:

    Respect - Aretha Franklin

Proud Mary - Ike & Tina Turner

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

    Disco Inferno - The Tramps

Don't Stop ?Til You Get Enough - Michael Jackson

You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real) - Sylvester

    Jive Talkin' - Bee Gees

    Love?s Theme - Barry White

    YMCA - Village People

    Last Dance - Donna Summer

We Are Family - Sister Sledge

Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston

    The Hustle - Van McCoy

Got to Be Real - Cheryl Lynn

    Vogue - Madonna

    And yes, I'm straight

Generally I just shuffle my library or pick an album but this is a recent mix CD I made.

I like this thread-nice spin on the 'what are you listening to?' thread.

A bit of an odd mix, but a playlist I threw together awhile ago and have been digging lately - kind of a mellow assortment of tunes:

I mostly go after a specific song or use shuffle play, but rather than shuffle through my entire library, I have a long playlist I call "The Big Shuffle" which contains all the stuff that I think works reasonably well as stand-alone pieces of music (as opposed to the kind of stuff on some albums that works better in the context of the album).

    575-song playlist
