Is NRAM a possibility for the long-term future? like late next year?

NRAM info - Nantero's homepage

The thought of this coupled with a 970 or more likely 980 is one that can't escape my mind.

    This tech is still a couple of years off. But if there was a surprise announcement at WWDC including NRAM, I would poop a brick.

    On a different note, isn't it about time for MRAM to make an appearance?

    shouldn't we be using XRAM or iRAM...though iRAM could be taken in the wrong way...

    that would be slick if you could have your entire OS reside in NRAM.

    Better be careful about making pronouncements about bodily functions here at FH--they might hold you to it.

    Yes! It worked like a charm. Does anyone know why they switched to DIMMs, DDR and all that? Guess it's marketing. They look all the same. Guess they are all the same.

    NRAM should be a definite possibility for the future, imagine you are working late on a paper and for some reason the power shuts off.

    hmmm. here are the two different scenarios between NRAM and RAM.

    RAM

    ====

    you just lost all of your work

    NRAM

    ====

    your computer turns back on, and all of your work is still there.

    Then you get kinda scared, because you know your computer isn't supposed to do this.

    Talking to our kids/grandkids, "... in MY day when you lost power anything you were working on was GONE unless you were luck enough to save it right before you lost power ... you kids don't know how lucky you have it"
