External Monitor Color Issue

I have a 12" Powerbook and I'm having trouble when I use an external monitor. When I use the Apple Video Adapter with a television, the color looks good. When I use the Apple VGA Display Adapter with a monitor, there is a decidedly yellow hue to that monitor. I've tried different televisions, different monitors, spanning, mirroring but the results are the same. Any ideas?

You could try cleaning the contacts (Pins). The Blue pins may have corrosion so the signal may not be getting through very well. However, I have a monitor that I don't use that is always turning purple. One of the tubes is starting to die or something like that. I don't think that is the case because you tried different monitors. You may also check to see if the color settings are correct on your computer. (I use OS 9 so I can't tell you how to do that.)

Thanks. I just borrowed a friends Apple VGA Display Adapter that came with his iBook. No difference. So I've switched out monitors and adapters. Next, I'll borrow my friends iBook and add it to the testing mix. All I know is that it looks like someone took a wiz in my Aqua. javascript:smilie('')

Friends iBook works fine. Apple Care said, "It's time for the system restore disk. If there is still a problem, send in for repair." I asked if they could exchange it for the new G5 version and he said, "Oh... I don't think they'll do that." Hmmmm.

I've just tried to connect my powerbook 12" to my tv using the video apaptor and a series of lindy adaptors and the picture on the television is in black & white. Is it supposed to be like this, i really hope not. Will try with a different TV

Update: Tested with a different TV. Worked fine. Great, playing DVD's on my TV in nice colour now not a great option. hrumph
