The things I hear tend to indicate he was a conservative. Funny, because I never got that impression AT ALL from him. What do you think?

I think David Brinkley simply came from another age of TV journalism, when integrity still mattered, and presenting the news was done to inform more than to inflame. Brinkley remained a gentleman throughout his long career, and newscasters of today could learn alot from his style.

He had zero tolerance for BS and I really liked listening to him and Chet Huntley when I was a kid.
