Eject Key on eMac not working

I have an eMac in front of on which the keyboard eject key has ceased working. I seem to remember there is a quick and easy fix for this, but I'll be damned if I can remember what it is. Any help SAP would be muchly appreciated.

    A new wrinkle, the machine is running OS 9, not OS X. The Eject Key works fine in OS X, but not at all in OS 9. The Volume/Mute keys do work in both.

    Nevermind. Figured it out.



    Not only had the Apple CD/DVD entension been deleted, but a bunch of third party extensions were interfering with it.
