Freebsd and my Ibook

I wanna try freebsd, is there any distro's for mac machines?

    FreeBSD for PowerPC isn't well maintained. It's a better bet to go NetBSD. Although, I could never get NetBSD to install on a G4 or a 7220 (fUx0r3d that machine by trying to boot NetBSD in OpenFirmware)



    Why would you even want to run FreeBSD though? What does it do that Mac OS X / Darwin doesn't?

    netbsd apparently has pretty good support for PPC hardware. OpenBSD has weak support (bare minimum, no power saving, sleep, etc), linux has full support for PPC hardware (except Nvidia gfx cards).

    A footnote: It will run on nVidia cards, albiet unaccelerated (like X on the Pro, Go, Woah macs)
