Does it do anything differently than 2, other than running in X?

It's a heck of a lot faster. Last week, I also had an error that DW2 couldn't fix rendering my disk unbootable; DW3 fixed it.

Yes...PlusOptimizer hasn't been made for OS X yet.

My advice is to stay clear of DW3, at least until it gets updated. Ran it on first partition?went fine. Ran it on second partition. Got to results dialog (prior to replacing directory). Clicked preview, looked at check volume, clicked preview again to dismiss check volume. Program froze; had to force quit. Reran DW3, but it said "please unmount check volume and try again" and quit. Indeed, the check partition was still mounted, and could not be unmounted even with "sudo umount -f". A reboot fixed this, but I'd be wary of buggy disk utilities. At any rate, don't use the preview feature.

I tested it on a TiBook 667, a B/W G3, and a Graphite G4, all running OS X. Some had OS 9 systems too. I had no problems. Yet...
