Quicktime and Proxy Authentication

So, Apple continues to suck on the proxy front. Every program they build (Quicktime, iTunes) doesn't seem to recognize the request for authentication, so there's no way for iTunes to access the CDDB from inside my office and no way for Quicktime to stream anything, no way for Software Update to do its thing. Safari recognizes the request but the information you submit isn't recognized by the proxy.



Has anyone come across or written any sort of hack to beat this major shortcoming?

    i don't know who THEY are, but THEY are geniuses. thanks for the tip! this guy definitely will get some cash from me. having all this work transparently is worth ten bucks any day of the week.
