Can't install iChat AV (properly)

after installing iChat AV beta, and upon opening the app for the first time I got an error that said "The InterView software was not installed correctly. Please try reinstalling the software." It says that twice, then I can go through a few setup screens, then it says it again, then another alert pops up, but stays completely blank and the app hangs, and keeps hanging, and continues in a hung state until I give up and force quit. I've tried reverting then redownloading and reinstalling. same problem each time. Anyone got any suggestions?
