Elastic Reality in OSX classic

I'm testing out some programs in an academic environment, and the one program that hasn't been updated for OSX is Avid's Elastic Reality. (matter of fact it has been discontinued for a while)

Here's the question I pose to the forum:

The program requires a serial hardware dongle which is connected to the mac via an imate.

-Has anyone used Elastic Reality in the classic environment on OSX?

-Is it stable?

At this point I am well aware that the program has a [k] for it as well. I was wondering if people have gotten it to run either with the dongle attached to the station or even without (viathe[k]) in the classic environment in OSX. My goal is to avoid allowing any of the machines to boot into OS9.
