January 1st, the magic date?
3 of the promo's affecting powermac buyers will expire on Dec. 31st. "Double your memory", "Power couple" and "Design Freely" all end on this date so what can we expect? Maybe after "Double your memory" we'll begin to get honestly priced ram in BTO configurations from now on, that wouldn't be much to ask for. The end of a display promo can give birth to one of two things and that is a slightly altered display promo or the arrival of new displays and a new accompanying promo. As for "Design freely" I don't think it has much to tell about what will happen on the 1st. Could it be possible that Apple might release new displays on new year's day and use MWSF to focus on consumer products?

You must realize, just because a promotion ends, doesn't mean Apple will release something new the next day.

Not only will they no relese something new...
They'll probably actually post all of thier hardware as available in 1-2 weeks... (2-3?) So that no one back out of purchases based on Mac World Sanfransico Price changes and Prouduct boosts...
This is why the promotion ends... am I wrong???

So is this how financial quarters align with calendar quarters?

Huh?
Apple's financial quarters are:
1Q: Oct 1 - Dec 31
2Q: Jan 1 - Mar 31
3Q: Apr 1 - Jun 30
4Q: Jul 1 - Sep 30

I see dates ranging all over the place. Looks to me like dates have little/no significance to Apple releases. (which is the conclusion others found above) Doh!
