Is there any (hack) way to upgrade a Pismo's video card?

Just wondering. I know conventional wisdom says no. I'd consider doing it if AT ALL possible. There must be a way.

    Yes.

But it's a round about way and it would probably be cheaper to buy a new 'Book.

You can use one of these.

Coupled with a PCI Video Card, such as a Radeon 7000, you have an upgraded video card. Of course, without some h4rDc0r3 m0dd1nG, it will only work with an external monitor.

PCI Extreme is required for Quartz Extreme to work too.

Interesting idea. But you are right...I could get new PB for what it would cost me for the card plus the PCI scheme.

No hack that I've ever heard of or found...and believe me, I've looked.

I've maxed out the RAM & put in a new hard drive, the only thing possible yet to do is upgrade the processor. I've been reading that the iSight will work with a G4/500 upgrade on the Pismo, so I might go for it (when it drops below $200).

Yes, there is an easy way.

    1. Get An Axe

    2. Buy a 17" PB

    3. Smash up pismo with axe

    4. Use 17" PB

I don't want to get your hopes up, but didn't the last revision of the Pismo have a spot to hold a second 8 MB chip of VRAM? I've never seen one for sale though, and that might not be enough of an upgrade for you even if it is available.
